Travel Terms & Conditions

LOCAL TRAVEL

  • Most scheduled weekend packages include 3 nights accommodation, a maximum of 4 dives and where indicated, breakfast & dinner.
  • Prices are quoted as per person sharing and a single supplement may be charged at the discretion of the accommodation establishment.
  • A minimum of 8 paying clients are required in order for the trip to be a Dive Locker led group trip.  
  • Deposit payments are required in order to secure the booking and these are non-refundable if trip is cancelled by client.  If cancelled by Dive Locker then deposits will be held in credit toward a different trip or the booking may continue but will be considered an individual booking.
  • Individual or tailormade packages will be priced accordingly.
  • Expenses not included, unless otherwise indicated:
  • travel
  • catering, beverages
  • border, park & entry fees 
  • gear rental (& gear rental insurance, which is the repsonsibility of the person renting the gear)
  • maritime tax
  • surcharges to distant reefs 
  • diver permits (required for diving within South African Marine Protected Areas)
  • travel insurance
  • border transfers
  • night dives and required accessories
  • third party insurance for vehicles crossing borders
  • Rates are seasonal (low, high & peak) and will be charged accordingly.
  • Dives not completed will be credited to the client (not refunded) for the following reasons only: 
  • the resort / operator cancels the dive 
  • the diver is too ill to dive and the operators are notified at least two hours prior to the dive taking place
  • Dive credits are valid only for the operator that originally issues the credits and are valid for a maximum of 3 months.  Should Dive Locker be able to sell these credits on behalf of the credit holder then Dive Locker will refund the holder according to the original price paid for the dives.
  • Quoted rates and prices are subject to change without prior notice due to fluctuations in exchange rates, change in accommodation and operators, change in flight rates and other unforeseen 
  • A 50% deposit within 72 hours of making a booking is required in order to secure a reservation.  The balance is payable 30 days prior to the date of travel or as otherwise indicated for that particular trip.
  • Cancellations within 30 days prior to the departure date will result in a 35% forfeight of the deposit amount, within 14 days 50% of the total amount paid and less than 14 days 100% of the total amount paid unless that space is filled by another booking.
  • Accommodation cancellations during the booked period due to unforeseen incidents may or may not be credited and will take place based on the terms & conditions of each individual accommodation establishment.
  • Should payments be made by credit card, a credit card fee varying between 3.5 & 5% will be charged to the client.
  • Dive Locker's preferred method of payment is via EFT

FOREIGN TRAVEL

Variances of these apply for different trips / operators:

  • For a booking to be confirmed at the resort or on a liveaboard, a non-refundable deposit amount, per person will be required.
  • Should you wish to pay for an air ticket together with the applicable airport taxes in order to benefit from the current rate then the payment will  need to be paid in full and as a once-off payment in order to be confirmed.  Taxes and airfares can change at anytime. Tickets can only be issued and prices set when full and final payment has been received by the airline, but then also depends on if it is part of a group booking in which case all tickets need to be issued together.  In this case pricing will need to be re-evaluated at the time that group tickets are issued.  This payment may only fulfill a portion of the deposit required in order to secure the booking. 
  • For cancellations on both accommodation and air tickets, a cancellation fee will be charged - as per the relevant terms & conditions of the accommodation establishment / airlines involved.  Please familiarise yourself with cancellation policies upon making your booking enquiry.
  • Please familiarise yourself with exchange rates at which the package was quoted vs exchange rates applicable on day of final payment.
  • All rates & pricing are subject to variances in exchange rates.  All quoted prices are based on an exchange rate applicable when package was compiled.  Final rates and pricing are however based on the exchange rates on the day that final payment is to take place.
  • Dive Locker and any of its appointed representatives shall not accept responsibility for services not met by operators or service providers, loss or injury to clients.  Clients will be expected to sign indemnity forms for both Dive Locker and its elected tour operators in this regard.  
  • Should payments be made by credit card (if available), a credit card fee varying between 3.5 & 5% will be charged to the client over and above quoted package pricing.
  • Dive Locker's preferred method of payment is via EFT.
